NSWB offers a unique articling experience that will develop your legal and professional skills. We are one of the largest rural law firms in southern Saskatchewan. Our Mission Statement is to provide quality service (efficient, timely and consistent) to our clients at a reasonable cost.
We have five lawyers, a large, well-trained and specialized staff with departments in real estate, estates, tax, corporate, family law, civil litigation, criminal law and accounting, and a very progressive approach to the practice of law. Our firm has an advanced computer system, giving it the capability for increased programming of documents for faster service, as well as access to software packages for accounting resulting in increased accuracy and consistency of billings.
Our image is that of a professional, well established and stable law firm, in existence for over 40 years. We have a strong client base in many areas of law which allows for large revenue generation from client billings. As well, the firm has a good relationship with financial institutions and realtors providing an excellent on-going source of clientele.
As an Articling Student, you are exposed to all areas of law. Under supervision of a lawyer, you will obtain “hands on” experience by meeting with clients, attending at court and preparing documents. You will have your own office and computer and share secretaries and legal assistants.
We are located in Weyburn, a beautiful community of approximately 11,000 people. It has excellent schools – public, separate and Christian independent, a lot of facilities and sporting venues, and is a great place to raise children. Regina is only a 70 minute drive away. Our firm is conveniently located downtown with a wheel chair accessible building. As well, the lawyers offer the
convenience of house visits.
The lifestyle of a rural lawyer practicing in a profitable firm offers a good standard of living, more hours to spend on family and hobbies and a more relaxed way of life. Our workload expectations are reasonable and we offer an Articling Student the opportunity to have an enjoyable personal life and raise a family in a safe, comfortable community.
